The villains series comes to an end today, and so does the Champion City Comics Writers Academy. The doors to the Academy are not going to be closed for good because I want to talk more about my life in webcomics next week, which really doesn't fit into a writing tips article.
The last bit of advice I want to give up and coming writers is that when you create a villain, then include a dose of humanity. If your villain is a human then allow them to have emotions. We're tired of the villain that's always in an evil mood. Villains can be happy or tired. They can go out on a date, get their hair cut, or even crack a joke.
Not allowing your villain to have a human quality is a major flaw. We've had the evil for the sake of being evil talk, so I really hope that sank in to your skull.Watch the video below to see how villains have a soft side and a funny side at times.
TonyDoug Wright is the owner and editor of Champion City Comics. His webcomics include Dr Death vs The Zombie, The End of Paradise, The Red Devil, and Day 165.
